Consider the Heavens

Do you have good fine motor skills? I am always amazed when I watch a good jeweler work with their tools. The tiny screws and fine chains seem to cause them no problems, whatsoever. They are masters of the miniscule. It's always interesting to watch children, too. Some of them enjoy the fine details, others struggle to accomplish tasks that require that type of control.

In Psalm 8, we read, "When I consider the heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" It is overwhelming to think that something that is too big for us to comphrehend - our universe - is only a display of the fine motor skills of our God. If the "work of His fingers" is bigger than we can even imagine, how can we think that we can even *begin* to comprehend the power and might and glory of our God! AMAZING!

But even more amazing is that this all-powerful Creator loves us, and sent His Son to die for our sins. "O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!"
