A Monday Musing

One of the things I most enjoy about meditating on Scripture is that it is TRUE.  Always true.  Perfectly true.  "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."  Psalm 12:6  Every piece fits together into the whole perfectly.  It always glorifies God the Father.  It always points us to God and away from self.  It is refreshing.

Isn't that different from what we see around us every day?  We teach "character" -  but the Word teaches godliness.  We teach "You deserve it" - but the Word teaches self-control.  We teach happiness - but the Word teaches true joy.  I am so thankful for God's Word!!  It is a deep well of living water for the thirsty soul.  A feast for one who hungers for righteousness.  A guard for an impulsive tongue.  A resting place for a weary traveler., and a sword to fight against evil.

If you can, take a minute today and write out a verse or two to put above your kitchen sink so you can see it while doing the dishes.  It's a wonderful way to turn something repetitious into a time of learning and rejoicing!!

Your Happy Monday prompt for today...
When I do the dishes I...
