She who loves...

She who loves...

... is always patient, kind and content.  she is not envious of others because her eyes are on the Lord.
Charity suffereth long and is kind.  Charity envieth not.

... is not proud, and therefore not contentious.  She does not base her happiness on others meeting her expectations.
Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.

... is always polite, especially to those in her own home, and never says, "I deserve this."

...doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own,

... is not irritated by others' actions, and has an even temper. not easily provoked, thinketh no evil

... keeps no record of wrongs done, but concentrates on the good, and right, and pleasant in others and every situation.

...rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

... bears up under the "everydayness" of life without complaint, and bears wrong done to her without a vindictive spirit.

...beareth all things...

... always believes the best, and assumes that while actions may fall short, the motive was pure.
...believeth all things...

... never says, "I told you so," but always encourages.

...hopeth all things...

... endures all that life brings without bitterness and complaining.

...endureth all things...

She who loves never fails to do these things.

Charity never faileth.

I found myself squirming as I was typing this out this morning.   Isn't the Word of God a sharp sword?  Do I trust God enough to be lavish in my love for others, just as He was lavish in His love for me??  Even when others don't deserve or appreciate it?  Even when they take advantage of it?  That's certainly something to muse on this Monday, isn't it!!
