{Mastering Your Menus} Company Meals


Hello again!

It's time for another installment of Mastering Your Menus!  

On Board Entertaining: Company Meals 

Hello, shipmates!! Today we’re going to look at some ideas for “company” menus. You know, the ones where you have people coming for a Sunday lunch and you won’t be there all morning to prepare, or you’re fixing for a birthday party with all the family, or perhaps you’re making a meal for someone who is moving. Let’s think through at least three menus that are easy to put together, but a little more special.

Here are a few ideas to get you started…

Sunday Company Meals

#1 Roast in Crockpot - Sprinkle with Onion Soup Mix and put in on low @11 pm - partially frozen. You can add a  little water or beef broth, if you’d like. It will be done by noon the next day.
 Mashed Potatoes (Peel and put in water before church - then cook when you get home)
 Green Beans or Green Bean Casserole
 Jello with Fruit (Made ahead)
 Homemade rolls warmed in Oven

#2 Ham - in oven on low all morning
 Company potatoes - in crockpot in early am (Hash Browns, Cheese, Sour Cream… etc…)
 Relish Tray (cut up the night before)
 Rolls
 Stir Fried Veggies (Right Before the Meal)
 Pie (Make ahead and reheat covered with Foil)

#3 Spaghetti & Meat Sauce
 Breadsticks
 Lettuce Salad

Breadsticks:
1 batch homemade pizza dough or one loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
½ stick butter, melted
½ tsp garlic powder
12 oz mozzarella cheese
sprinkle with oregano & basil

Spread dough out (I use a baking stone) and cover with garlic butter, cheese and spices. Bake in 375 oven until cheese browns. (If the butter drips onto the bottom of the oven this can get messy… makes smoke…. sets off the fire alarm…. don’t ask me how I know!)
